Barnstormer is a 'shot n drop' style tower ride which blasts riders 140ft up in the air!

Built in 2007 by S&S Power of Utah, it is the tallest Double Shot ride in Europe!

It is one of Loudoun's most intense rides and aimed more at the thrill seekers, though some braver kids can  enjoy the ride when accompanied an adult.

Riders sit in four rows of three, on a carriage around the base of the tower. Once the ride is loaded, the carriage is weighed by computer before being thrust up the tower at speeds reaching 45mph!

The unique feature of this ride kicks in when the carriage reaches the top. Rather than just freefalling, riders are forced down the tower - experiencing g-forces higher than those felt by astronauts at lift off, before being shot back up to do it all again!

Height = 140ft
Speed = 45mph
G-Force = +4G / -1G
Capacity = 12 per ride
Restriction: Over 1.3m

Barnstormer originally opened as Space Shot at Pleasureland Southport, in 2002. The ride was bought by Loudoun Castle when Pleasureland closed in 2006 and was completely refurbished, with many electrical and mechanical components replaced, before being built up and re-themed to open in 2007.
