Black Pearl is a swinging ship ride with a difference - it goes all the way round! The ride was built by German company Weber Engineering and is a "Traum Boot", or "Dream Boat" design. The ride cycle starts with the large gondola rocking back and forth, gradually gaining height, until it swings right round 360°. Due to the ride slowing as it nears the top, riders are, at times, actually held upside down!   The ride first came to Loudoun Castle when it opened in 1995 and was originally themed as "The Wallace Sword". It left the park around 1998 but returned in 2004, when the new owners re-themed it to fit with the new Pirate Cove area.

Black Pearl is the only ride of its kind in the UK and is one of Loudoun's most thrilling rides. Riders can expect high G-Forces, but some may find it slightly uncomfortable due to the strong lap-bars.
