The Carousel is a classic merry-go-round ride, on a grand scale!

Unlike on traditional carousels, where the horses are suspended from a large pole and follow and "up and down" movement, the horses on Loudoun's ride are freestanding and rock back and forth as the carousel turns round!

The ride is also about twice the size of the average carousel, making it a very dominant feature in its position, right in the middle of Pirate Cove.

The Carousel was built by Zierer and was brought to the park by Henk Bembom in 2002, to replace the one which had stood in the same spot during the previous management.

Diameter = 68ft
Horses = 48
Capacity = 96 per ride
Restriction: Over 1.2m

Since Loudoun opened, there has always been a carousel on in the middle of the former walled garden. Even though the area is now home to the Pirate Cove themed area, the Carousel still takes pride of place in the centre.
