Crows Nest is a
spinning, twirling ride which is fun for families yet still packs a
punch for the thrill seekers!
It is a "Troika" model, built
by HUSS Rides,
and its ride cycle is quite complex.
Three large arms are connected by a central column which rotates clockwise. Each
arm holds a wheel of seven gondolas which spin anti-clockwise as
the central column turns.
The rides arms then rise up and tilt, so
that the gondolas not only spin clockwise around the column and
anti-clockwise on the wheels, but are also lifted up into the air.
At full tilt, the riders are held at 30ft above the ground!
