HMS Flora McDougal is a classic swinging ship ride, which is fun for all the family!

Riders sit in rows on a gondola, suspended below four large steel legs. Once the lap bars are in place, the gondola begins to rock back and forth, gradually building up height and speed until it reaches a full swing angle of around 70°.

At full swing, riders sitting in seats at the ends of the gondola can experience a feeling of weightlessness while those nearer the center can enjoy a gentler ride.

Loudoun's swinging ship was built by HUSS Rides and came to the park with Henk Bembom, in 2003.
Located opposite Loggers Leap, it is one of the first rides you see upon entering Dougal McDougal's Farm.

Height = 66ft
Swing angle = 70°
Capacity = 54 per ride
Restriction: Over 1.3m

Swinging ships have been a staple attraction at theme parks around the world since the seventies and remain popular to this day.

HMS Flora McDougal is one of the more exotic ride names at the park, and is named after the Nineteenth Century Countess of Loudoun, Flora Mure-Campbell.
