Loudoun Castle and M&Ds are
to merge, it has been announced.
Park bosses signed the agreement on the stroke of
midnight, underneath Loudoun's historic yew trees - an homage to the 300 year
old Treaty of Union.
The surprise move comes just days into the 2007 season
and will bring together Loudoun's new sports facilities and M&D's
entertainment complex, as well as both theme parks and rides businesses, under
the new name "MD&LC Ltd".
The new
company plans to use their increased rides stock to alternate machines between
the two parks, starting with the re-location of Barnstormer to their Motherwell
site later this month.
The ride is
expected to be replaced at Loudoun by M&Ds "Flying Jumbos" carousel
ride.

Castle Vaults has been taken over by the people who wrote the jokes for some of
