Looping Coaster in 2008?
26th November 2007

Following the shock announcement that Twist and Shout has been put up for sale, Loudoun Castle Vaults understands that a faster, 80ft tall looping coaster could take its place next year!

Earlier this month, the Schwarzkopf Looping Star rollercoaster - which had been leased to a park in Rome by Loudoun Castle owners Parkware Ltd - returned to the Scottish theme park.

The ride was built by the same legendary ride designer as Twist and Shout and follows a similar layout... only 20ft bigger!
Older fans of Loudoun Castle may recognise the ride as being the same model of ride which previously graced the top of the bill at Loudoun - the Thunderloop Express.
That ride - also leased from Parkware Ltd, before they owned Loudoun - was the park's first major rollercoaster and was removed in 1998. It wasn't until 2003 when fans were truly reimbursed for this loss when Henk Bembom opened Twist and Shout.

Parkware Ltd have listed a looping coaster for sale and will face the tricky decision of which coaster to sell, if it receives any interest.

Only time will tell and we will keep you updated with any developments on this story.

In the mean time, why not join in the discussions on our forum?
