The Plough is a
fast, fun chair-o-plane ride, suitable for all the family!
Designed by Anton Schwarzkopf, the ride is one of only two in existence! Together they share the title of the largest chair-o-plane ride in
the world!
Thirty chairs surround a huge fibreglass
moon, which slowly rotates clockwise as the chairs fly round anti-clockwise.
The ride sits on a mound, so that as it spins round, riders are swung
out over the steep drop, making it all
the more thrilling.
The
Plough opened in 2005,
having previously operated at Henk Bembom's former Dreamland park, in Margate.

Both The Plough and its twin, in Holland, were originally designed as a completely different ride experience altogether!
The ride, then known as Apollo 14, originally had four gondolas on each of the vertical brown arms. As the planet spun round, these gondolas, which could seat up to three people, would raise up to the top of the arm, spinning as they went!
The Dutch ride was converted to a chair-o-plane first and stood side-by-side with Apollo 14 at Loudoun's sister park, Ponypark Slagharen.
Apollo 14 was later moved to Dreamland, where it operated for a few
years before undergoing the same transformation as its twin.
In 2005, it came to Loudoun to become The Plough.
