Twist and Shout is
Loudoun's main rollercoaster and is one of the first rides you can see
when approaching the park!
It
is quite an intense ride which caters for thrill seekers and families
alike.
Created
by the prestigious
ride designer Anton
Schwarzkopf, it is a "Silverarrow" model
and is one of only two operating in the world
- the other being in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The coaster starts by climbing to the
top of its 60ft lift-hill
before hurtling down the twisting drop into its signature element
- the vertical loop.
It
then twists round a pretzel shaped
turn and threads the loop before entering a 900° helix!
In 2002, Twist and Shout was one of the first rides to
be installed by Henk Bembom at Loudoun Castle and remains a firm
favourite with visitors to this day.
For the 2007 season, the train was re-designed with a "mine train" theme.
